It seems that every celebrity has an angle these days to get press. Paris has been to jail. Mel Gibson has been to rehab. Hell, you can get away with anything!  

In this case, Lachey was caught doin’ it doggie-style in a hot tub. If you search the web, you’re going to be really lucky to find anything. Lachey’s lawyer has been scouring the web and threatening everyone to pull the pictures. Apparently, some penetration video is floating out there. You can count on a big fight over that. But in reality, who cares? Bottom line is that Lachey and Minnillo are going to get more publicity than they ever could pay for from this.

Personally, I love the photo. I’m going to have sweet dreams tonight. Vanessa, you go girl. Take that big load and make us a baby Nick - unless it was your ass he was ‘plowin!

Colt’s Gage Weston is becoming a bit of a celeb on Bravo’s Workout with two appearances now. Appearing twice now, once with super celeb and Diva, Kathy Griffin, who stars on “My Life on the D-List”, Gage does a great job. This is a rare chance to see a real guy behind the porn star role. And speaking of the D-List, in January, Ms. Griffin hosted the GAYVN Award Show in San Francisco. The entire event was video-taped for her series, and premiering on Bravo this Tuesday, July 10! From their press release:  “Hot House Entertainment announced that Lifetime Exclusive and dear friend Kent North died on July 4th of an apparent drug overdose. “We are all shocked and deeply saddened,” said Hot House President Steven Scarborough. “Our deepest sympathy goes out to Kent’s friends and family, especially his lover Lloyd.”

Kent became part of the Hot House family in 2004 when he debuted in Handpacked III: Jampacked. He was immediately signed to an exclusive contract and went on to star in 13 additional titles, including At Your Service where he earned trophies for Best Solo Performance at both the 2007 GAYVN and Grabby Awards. Kent’s stature as a huge industry star was further recognized this year with an invitation to co-host the 2007 Grabby Awards in Chicago.

In addition to being a consummate, award-winning performer, Kent and his lover Lloyd joined Hot House for several high-profile events every year including IML and the Folsom Street Fair. Kent often made appearances in his role as a Hot House Exclusive throughout Europe. He was always eager to pose for photos and extend his kindness to everyone who approached him. Kent loved his fans as much as they loved him and during events he was always the last model to finish signing.

May 28, 2007 …

Last week marked the season finale for Bill Mayer. The panel discussion was hot with Ben Affleck - for more reasons than one!  Michael Moore guested in his first TV interview in over two years to discuss his movie “Sicko”, which just premiered at Canne. If you or someone you love has ever had to fight for treatment with your insurance company, this film will hit home. Moore is getting support for both Democrats and Republicans. “It’s pathetic that Costa Rica has better health care than America” said Mayer. This is an issue that is huge. We all get sick, eventually. You also have to consider that the healthcare business is now run by MBA administrators for profit for their shareholders. Doctors no longer have control. Whatever your faith or religion, I think we can all agree that it is immoral to profit from pain and suffering. (And if you are worried about new drugs being produced, the government can subsidize the pharmaceutical companies like they do every other industry from our taxes!)

Okay - enough of that. Let’s change gears and get to something that will grab you by the seat of your pants … leather. This weekend, IML (International Mr. Leather) is alive and well in Chicago. The leather community celebrated their 30th visit to Chicago with a sell-out event. Mikel Gerle, Mr. Los Angeles Leather was the coveted winner of the International Mr. Leather title. Over 50 contestants flew in for the event to compete from around the world at the legendary Chicago theater.

International Mr. Leather contestants are judged on a variety of criteria including community involvement, speech, presentation and overall presence. Entertainer Hal Sparks brought his many talents to The International Mr. Leather Contest.  Best known for his portrayal as Michael on the ground-breaking Showtime series “Queer as Folk,” Sparks has also made a name for himself in both the music and stand-up worlds. With that, I’m off to a BBQ myself. “Honey” was at an adoption event yesterday, and we’re all set to attend a huge dog adoption event next Sunday here in Los Angeles. Do remember to spay or neuter your pet. In a recent news story, Los Angeles was proud to announce that they only euthanized about a million dogs and cats last year. Yeah - that’s something to boast about. Idiots!

May 22, 2007 …

The Lucas camp has the PR machine in full gear already for their new film, “The Intern”. Time will tell if they can find balance between sex and comedy. One of the problems with the original Jet Set series “Wet Palms” was its split personality. You either got into the story or the sex, but not both. It’s currently being recut for re-release later this summer. In the meantime, Michael has released a likeness of his famous penis for your personal pleasure: “My dildo is hitting the stores this week. If any of you want to review it, hit me back with an email and I will send it to you. We sold 500 of them off our website in two weeks for the outrageous price of $59.95. I can’t believe I don’t escort any longer… ”

On the political front, ex-President Jimmy Carter was quoted Saturday as saying “I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history.”

The Georgia Democrat said Bush had overseen an “overt reversal of America’s basic values” as expressed by previous administrations, including that of his own farther, former President George H.W. Bush.  Carter is best known for his work with Habitat for Humanity. He came out a few days later and apologized for the comment.

If you have been under a rock, you haven’t seen the blockbuster releases coming out each and every weekend. It’s going to be a great summer. Do make time to catch Michael Moore’s new film about the health industry, “Sicko”. It’s his account of America’s ailing health care system. He took US patients to Cuba where they recieved superior medical care. Now the US government is after Moore and harassing him. So much for First Ammendment rights - but then Bush approves torture, right? More on this as it develops!

Well, this upcoming weekend Chicago switches to the leather flag. IML will be in full swing and two leather super-powers will be there in full force. Expect to see the men of Titan there along with the studs from Hot House. (My vote’s for Hot House!)

Harlow Raymond Cuadra, 25, and Joseph Manuel Kerekes, 33, were arrested on criminal homicide charges and taken into custody in Virginia Beach.

Kocis’ burned body was found with multiple stab wounds inside his home on Midland Drive. Kocis was the owner of Internet pornography film business.

The Pennsylvania State Police Major Case Investigation team led the murder investigation.

In lieu of that drama, Colt has announced the recently re-launched line entitled Casting Couch.  Starring Buckshot Men Brad Patton and Brian Hansen and featuring some of the hottest uncut talent from Europe.

The story revolves around the production of a prime time soap opera in Budapest that will star an American celebrity and tabloid subject, played by Buckshot Man Brad Patton, which sets the scene for some real ‘off screen’ action.  Buckshot Man Brian Hansen, who plays the series producer and Roland Dane, as the director, lead a cast of Eastern European uncut studs, who enact roles behind the scenes and on the set, giving the story a wide range of sexual action and characters.  Director Dane teams up again with Sacanny, the director of photography.

Casting Couch is wrapped and in post production. Expect release mid-August. For those of you who can’t wait, it will be available for members of the website mid-June.

Also in Colt news, gage Weston appeared on Bravo’s Workout. Gage is hot and truly down to earth.  His appearance was not only sexy, but also telling about Gage’s real-life experience in Iraq and his relationship with his boyfriend Luke Garrett. There’s continuing drama on the Lucas Entertainment front. Here’s the latest quote from Michael’s email to me: “As you all know, the company that owns the rights to Federico Fellini’s film “La Dolce Vita” brought a lawsuit against me earlier this year.  Some of you were very happy to report that Lucas Entertainment was “slapped” with a lawsuit.  Some particularly clever people, like Chris Ward, even predicted that this lawsuit would be the end of me and my company.  What many failed to recognize was that this was nothing more than a homophobic, porn-hating move from the plaintiff. For God’s sake, how could anyone possible confuse the two films with each other? And how could my movie tarnish the reputation of an old, black-and-white movie from the ’60s that has a name most Americans can’t even pronounce correctly?

About a month ago, the plaintiff filed a motion in court to place an injunction on sales and distribution of “Michael Lucas’ La Dolce Vita.”  Last Friday my lawyer and their three lawyers (one of whom was named by IP Law & Business as one of the best lawyers in America met in court to present arguments to the judge.  The judge denied the injunction, so, yes, we will continue distributing, selling, and promoting the film.”

As I drive down the street, I can’t help but be shocked by the number of dumb blondes - mostly women, that are behind the wheels of behemoth SUV’s on a cell phone while drinking their Starbuck’s coffee. Staight men are so dumb. Gay guys rub their crotches and have to beat the men off with a stick. Straight guys have to rub their wallets and hope they get sex. And the last blow job they’ll get is before the wedding… So screw the environment. If you want an SUV, why not go for the biggest there is. Here’s the new GayPornSpace truck. It’s over 6000 pounds, so it’s got a great tax deduction. It’s pricey at a hundred grand, but diesel is cheaper than gas, so I guess 10 miles per gallon isn’t too bad! Here’s a quote explaining everything behind his absence from the Grabby awards: “I spoke with someone from the beloved Gay Chicago magazine about their Grabby Awards.  This person. who wishes to remain anonymous, gave me the most straightforward and logical explanation for why “Michael Lucas’ La Dolce Vita” was excluded from the nominations: Apparently the organizers of the Grabby’s made this business decision based on the fact that lots of studios were really pissed that after paying for expensive seats in the Castro Theatre, flying their models in, etc., my company swept all the big awards.  I guess they didn’t want a repeat of the GAYVNs this time around and wanted to sell their tables at the show. Onto something really important. I found a new blog you should really visit. It’s beautifulmag.eu, not .com. They have some really HOT material on their site as you will see below. Mark Wolff is still at it and boy am I glad. He’s completely revamped his video site. I know what I like, and normally, straight muscle sites don’t do it for me - but this one really rocked my world. Check it out. It’s pretty cutting edge and the guys are amazing!

Finally, when I was a very young lad, my father gave me a document printed by our very own U.S. government in the 1950’s showing us how the dreaded communists were going to infiltrate us and take over. Needless to say when I told my dad I’d rather go to Canada than Vietnam our relationship became stretched. The gay thing pretty much put the nail in the coffin. Oh well. Matthew emailed me and promised to write an editorial commenting on:

“1. I am very disturbed by what’s going on in government policy and places like Guantanamo Bay. 2. I wanted to speak out against it, as I myself don’t really feel safe. 3. Being a pornographer the only tool I have available to me is to make a porn movie that has sex scenes and b-roll (non-sexual parts) that parody the interrogations, the persecution, the policies etc etc… and try to show how ridiculous and double faced is everything that our government tells us on this subject. 4. That I had a choice of using the medium of an adult film to speak out against injustice or I could have parodied the safe topics and like the rest keep quiet. 5. That the concept behind this kind of parody can’t be seen unless one sees the nonsexual dialog parts. Certainly any judgment based on a title alone is a misjudgment.”

I look forward to receiving his thoughts and will publish them as soon as he gets them to me.

In other controversy, famous porn agent David Forrest recently spent his second stint in jail for soliciting sex for drugs on Craigslist.com. He got busted again and is out on bail rumored at $55,000.  Michael Lucas comments in a recent email about the Grabby’s and Forrest. He makes some incredibly valid and lucid points:

“As we all got the news recently about David Forrest’s most recent arrest—this time due to him allegedly trying to offer coke in exchange for sex—I couldn’t help but wonder why I was banned from ever receiving any more awards at the Grabbys for speaking against this man.  You may recall that my comments were directed precisely towards the issue of him hooking his models up with drugs.  Because of what I said, my GAYVN-award winning film “Michael Lucas’ La Dolce Vita” did not get a single Grabby nomination this year… and yet David Forrest is being honored on the Grabbys Wall of Fame. What? Can it be that David Forrest is able to influence more than just his models with his white powder? Shame on those who have continued to work with him the past few years.”

In other news, Lucas is producing a sex comedy this year. He positions it as Ugly Betty meets The Devil Wears Prada. Make sure to change the names this time, Michael! My feeling is that Michael is doing this as it’s the only GAYVN award he has yet to win. One piece of advice to producing comedy - don’t take yourself too seriously. It will be interesting to see if Lucas can do that. If he does, he might have another winner on his hands.

In American Idol news - it finally happened. Take a look at Blake Lewis now. Yeah - they performed their makeover magic. He’s an official hottie, and doing a great job to boot. Tune into your Spidey-senses. Spider Man 3 is on the way and that suit never looked finer. Rumor is the wardrobe department has always had a problem concealing Tobey Maguire’s manhood. I can live with that rumor. And speaking of concealing, or the lack thereof, not only do we get the new Harry Potter movie this July, but the final book as well. And if that isn’t enough, the Simpson’s movie hits the big screen as well in July. It’s going to be a great summer at the movies.

On a final note, how about this oddity in the news … I don’t even want to talk about the guy who got probation for having sex with a dead deer. I know we’re puritans here in America, and we don’t masturbate, and everyone is straight, and all our studly military don’t each other a ‘helping hand’, and we’re still in some black and white 50’s sitcom where no one uses drugs or is an alcoholic, and that really funny uncle is just odd - but not gay - but COME ONE America - wake up - maybe if we taught safe sex in school this kid would just have blisters and not have offed a deer to bust his nut!

Honey, my recent pit rescue, is in foster with my best friend and doing so well. And my best friend from Pit Bull Productions send me this picture of a friends 3 week old puppy. I know I am not perhaps the most popular person among some in the industry,  but ever since we swept the GAYVN awards, the drumbeat seems to be increasing. There is even speculation that our success at the awards was somehow due to a hostile conspiracy in the industry.

A “source” speculates in Queerty as follows:

“Some say that people voted for him repeatedly simply to bring more attention to what he did. In other words, the more attention he gets (which he actually wants, btw), the more there’s a chance of harsh legal action coming his way.”

I am much given to conspiracy theories myself, but even I can’t believe that our industry would achieve that degree of coordination—just to get back at me!

Even stranger, a month before the lawsuit I found the following from “anonymous” in my inbox:

“…guess what Carmen Marc Valvo top Fashion Designer is up to…he happens to be having some fun with his new gay porn company, Black Scorpion Videos. Him and his parner Christian knaust are running a full on all young boy sex business… run also by a best friend by Rafael Alencar. they are also planning to get together with the real dolce vita to see if he can sue you… be carefull michael.  Carmen Marc Valvo is very powerful, but one knows he is the owner.. wacth what u say to Rafael Alencar, he is a rat.”

I don’t know any of the gentlemen mentioned. Initially, I enjoyed this email for its very B-list film-noir writing. But isn’t it a bit neurotic? If there really are studios out there who blame their problems on Lucas Entertainment, I would say the following to them: You are making a big mistake and are doing yourself and your backers a major disservice. Take a careful second look at the industry… your life is not hard because Lucas Entertainment is there. Your life is hard because the industry is tough. If you want to make money today, you need a brand that’s recognized by the customer, not just by the gossip pages of the industry. And to build such a brand in today’s environment is a slow and expensive process with uncertain outcomes. That’s where your energies should be, not in spinning some bizarre conspiracies.

Let me make it very clear to all the cicadas, big and small, to all the hens who run around clucking “cluck cluck”:  Lucas Entertainment has been operating for almost 10 years. We have proven our abilities and we are not going anywhere. 

There is a growing trend here in New York by new companies to portray themselves as “spunky upstarts” against the “bullying giant” Lucas Entertainment and to leech off of our publicity.  That’s obviously flattering for us, though sometimes it becomes so blatant, it’s a little annoying. But make no mistake, success comes in the market with our public, and not in the blogs though industry gossip. And what counts with our public are hard work, new ideas, and talent.

I am sure you have read about the “coalition” of companies supposedly forming against me in New York City, which some gossip columnists are reporting about lately. Take for instance this little tidbit from Will Clark’s newsletter:

“Speaking of slugging it out I hear whispers that at least two of the smaller struggling gay porn companies located here in New York are in talks to join forces to combat the powerhouse of Lucas Entertainment’s dominance over the porn shops…talk about combining budgets, talent and administrative is rumored to be taking place even as I write this…”

This right here is one of my favorite fantasies, my company’s supposed “dominance” of New York stores. I wish it were true, but if you look at any of the New York stores, you will see that it is not. ALL the A-List studios are fully represented on the shelves. If some new company has trouble getting space on those shelves, it’s not because of Lucas… or Channel 1… or Titan. It’s because of the flood of bareback movies, twinky and otherwise. Like it or not (and I don’t), but that’s where the sales are today, and that’s what’s getting the shelf space. You can bray as much as you want about the powerhouse that we supposedly are (thanks for the compliment!) but in the end your REAL competition for space is all those barebacking twinks.

If a couple of small studios want to cut costs by sharing overhead, that seems like a great idea to me. But be straight to the world (and especially to your backers) about why you are doing it. You are doing it for sheer survival and not because of one specific competitor.

There’s also this little piece of news from Jossip:

“Couple all that with rumors we’ve heard about a new New York gay porn biz coming to town – to directly compete with Lucas Films…”

Once again, it’s all about Lucas Entertainment, and we’re flattered. However, why “a new New York gay porn biz coming to town” should be of particular interest to us escapes me.  We already compete directly with dozens of excellent companies in the industry, and I’d say that we are doing quite well.  There are many studios in San Francisco, for example, and they all do more or less well for themselves, depending on the quality of their product.  If anything, having more studios in New York can only help our own business as it brings more models, resources, and publicity to the city.

Let me conclude by saying that I love competition. It makes the business more interesting and makes us more productive and creative.  So I endorse it and we are always open to co-operate with studios, in New York or elsewhere. But I would say this to the many budding upstarts who may or may not succeed: Lucas Entertainment already exists. We have made our name through the distinctive style of our product and a good working relationship with the trade. You are more likely to succeed by concentrating on developing your own distinctive identity than by ranting on and on about the supposed big, bad Lucas Entertainnment. 

We may be big, but let me assure you, we are not bad.

Sorry to bother you again, but talking about rumors, I’m hearing from Mark Adams that I’m not going to be nominated for the Grabbys for “Michael Lucas’ La DolceVita,” or any other of my films. This does not come as a suprise for me, as they always blacklist me from any awards anyway. What really gets me is that they say they’ve never received any of my films. The true fact is that Stacy Bridge passed by me at the Colt Party before GAYVNs and told me not to get too excited, as he’d rather drop dead than give my company one award! So there you have it. Now they are lying that I didn’t submit my films to them for consideration. They have my films. They got my films. What liars. Whether they nominated me in the past or not, I never won. Take last year’s “Michael Lucas’ Dangerous Liaisons.” Nothing for it. And this year, not even a nomination? How low is it, that for me, speaking my mind years ago, I am now stripped of any awards? All because I think that David Forest is an embarrassment to the adult community? It’s absurd.

It has come to my attention that the Grabby Award organizers are spreading a lie about me that the only reason I was not nominated this year was that I did not “submit” my movie, Michael Lucas’ La Dolce Vita, in time.  I really hope that no one is so naive to fall for such a ridiculous and callous lie.  Just think about it.  Why would I, when I am so vigorously dedicated to publicity, refuse to send a copy of my film to anybody?  I even send my films to Latin American and Eastern European press.  It is such a poorly fabricated lie.  I am sure you are all aware of the real reason why I was not nominated, just another convenient, little detail-

‘DAVID FOREST, will attend this year’s event and will be honored on the Grabby’s coveted “Wall of Fame.”‘  

I think the message these people are trying to send is quite clear: play by their rules, or be completely erased no matter how good and recognized your work is.  Now let me tell you, I care very little about this show held by a local magazine and decided by an anonymous little group.  What does concern me is your opinion and your judgement- this is all that matters.”

The Ali Forney Center (AFC) was started in June 2002 in response to the lack of safe shelter for LGBT youth in New York City.  They are committed to providing LGBT youth with safe, dignified, nurturing environments where their needs can be met and where they can begin to put their lives back together.  AFC is also dedicated to promoting awareness of the plight of homeless LGBT youth in the United States with the goal of generating responses on local and national levels from government funders, foundations and the LGBT community.

Muscle Ranch 2, directed by multi-award nominated director Kristofer Weston. Weston gathered together a masculine and hunky group of guys to work each other over, as believably as any ranch hand would work a ranch.  Muscle Ranch 2 is not merely a sequel to the original Muscle Ranch, which featured Ed Dinakos ‘initiating’ his new foreman, Jake Tanner, but Muscle Ranch 2 takes the plot even further to include a wide assortment of guys in the owner’s (Antton Harri) quest to hire a new foreman (Remo Ferri), to wrangle his raunchy crew into shape.

Director Kristofer Weston successfully leads his cast and crew in maintaining a rural and Buckshot butch atmosphere. His cast is completely believable as working ranch hands. At no point does one think these guys are ‘role playing models’. The cast maintains a raunchy and playful masculinity that is completely appropriate for the setting. Even Weston’s choice to include ripping off condoms in full screen before shooting some of their loads, gives this feature a more natural, if raw feel that a bunch of ranch hands would have.

The last few days have been filled with porn history. The GAYVN Summit was attended by virtually every prominent studio and star in the industry in San Francisco. There were mixers, socials, parties and seminars. Most notably, COLT threw their 40th anniversary party and the GAYVN Awards were held at the Castro theater hosted by Kathy Griffin last night. Oddly I did a TV show with Kathy Griffin about 10 years ago where I was one of 4 potential dates. She ended up choosing a very twinky guy. While she was funny then, she has hit her stride now. As I arrived at the “W” for the weekend, I found myself riding up the elevator with Ms. Griffin. I don’t know how shes done it, but she looks better today than she did ten years ago. And a lot of it just is her energy and confidence. Yes, she has that sarcastic humor. But let me tell you, that’s a brilliant comedianne performing because she is warm, loving and one of the most genuine people you would ever want to meet. 

The “W” was a great central location for all the events. There were bars around the meeting rooms and everyone was networking and saying hello after a hard years work. Stars who had worked together on shoots were reunited, and their favorite directors were joining in as well.  Michael Lucas was as calm as ever on Saturday as I saw him off to the spa for a massage. He’s a gentle man which isn’t what you would expect from someone who has created such an empire.

The Colt 40 party was spectacular. The music pounded and reverberated through rooms filled with muscle, leather and sweat. I don’t think we’ll see another event like this until they throw number 50! The dancing and drinking went well into the night. It was an invitation only event to only the elite in the industry - those who had shared in their history. 

Back in the light of day, there were seminars by the top directors including Steven Scaroborough, marketing, legal and more. While we have earned many freedoms as an industry, knowlege and networking are key so quality porn can be available to the consumer. These companies take it seriously and attended in a huge ballroom for hours on end, day after day. The room was filled to capacity.

The big night had arrived. And with it, rain. The Castro filled fast - to capacity. And this time, things were different, you, the consumer could attend. And the balcony filled with real consumers. GAYVN set the stage with amazing lighting and a killer sound system. The house music resonated through the room, bass echoing, like you would imagine in a surreal night club with flames and explosions.

A late start was precipitated by a glitch in the video system, but the tech guys figured it out, no doubt under intense pressure.

Chi Chi LaRue came out on stage to start off the evening. In larger-than-life style, Ms. LaRue got the evening off to a bang with style and class. And with that, the evening begun as she introduced the fabulous Ms. Kathy Griffin.

Kathy started with a routine that was flawless and tailored to perfection. She was so at home with the gay audience. In case you read her site or blog, her father passed away and it was a poignant moment when she shared her loss and joy to be with us in San Francisco at this point in her life. I was moved to tears as the entire room gave her a standing ovation that literally stopped the show. God love the gay community! She spun us back into the show, and on with the awards.

For the full results of the awards, you can go to GAYVN, but here are some of the highlights. Michael Lucas’ La Dolce Vita won a record breaking 14 awards including best picture. Hot House was the next highest winning studio with 4 awards. There was a large group of employees in a section up front from Hot House. Every time they had a win, they all jumped up together. Pretty cool. Hoo-rah!

Many other awards were given, along with 6 inductees to the hall of fame. Some of the award highlights include: Titan exclusive François Sagat was voted Performer of the Year. The Sex Comedy award went to a Jet Set Productions movie, Going Under (they seem to have the patent on this comedy thing!). And wonderously, awards-show host, comedienne Kathy Griffin was also presented with a trophy naming her an Honorary Gay by NakedSword - the first female NakedSwordsman!

Griffin kept the show on track never missing a beat. Either Kathy, GAVYN or her people must have coached her throughout the evening because it was as if she was on the inside of every industry joke. Although, I don’t think anyone expected her to drop to her knees to almost perform oral sex!

One awkward moment occured when the audience was a bit “chilled” when Michael Lucas won best actor. She commented that the room chilled to an icey level. Lucas won the next category and very graciously deflected the criticism. In prior years he was more confronting, and I was impressed with his humility and authentic words.

The room was hot as hell to say the least. Griffin worked right through a scheduled intermission and the show finished with a bang. The show was videotaped for airing in the future for her show, “The D List”. I can’t wait to relive many of the moments we all saw on screen.

As everyone poured out of the theater, the rain poured out of the sky. Stretch limos waited to scrurry industry stars and directors to the NakedSword after party. This was the end of the weekend event, and it was time to party. And party everyone did. Into the wee hours of the night friends greeted and congratulated each other, danced, drank and conversed.

The weekend concluded as I waited to board my plane, and go figure, I run into Kathy again at the restaraunt in the airport. She was relaxing with her entourage after a big weekend. Everyone was boarding their flights. I sat quietly looking forward to being in my own bed. I missed my dogs. The plane was sprinkled with who had been at the GAYVN’s and the parties. I smiled as I overheard commentary about who won, who should have won, who was caught sucking who, tales of too much to drink, and more.  The flight left late, and you gotta love Southwest, the pilot came on and said he was sorry “It’s my first flight” and he hoped all that ice on the wings didn’t matter.

Back here in Los Angeles I was greeted by my poopie-dogs, eager for kisses. Ahhh, it’s good to be home. And I can’t wait for the GAYVN’s in 2008!

Check the Top 25 page for a complete list of the Top 20 films of 2006. They are must rents at minimum. Buy the ones you love. Bill Maher is back. Lot’s of hot topics out of the gate - the election being one of them. I had a nightmare the other night. Former president Jeb Bush was introducing his grand-son, George Bush III as he declared his candidacy. I woke up in quite a flop sweat!

Obama is creating quite a stir - not because he did cocaine and pot, but because he smokes regular cigarettes. He says he didn’t enjoy drugs - first lie. And he’s only quitting smoking as an example for his candidacy. Yeah - they better turn off the smoke alarms in the bathrooms fast!

How’s this for horrible irony? In the same week a black athlete comes out of the closet and another claims to “hate gays”. Yes John Amaechi came out, and NBA All-Star Hardaway slammed us homos. He later apologized given his own history that his comments  were out of line. That takes the sting out of: “You know I hate gay people, so I let it be known… I don’t like gay people and I don’t like to be around them. I’m homophobic. It shouldn’t be in the world or the United States.”  Well, duh! At least he was honest. If anything good comes from this, it will show the level of hatred and homophobia in our culture.

Michael Lucas continues to be the king of PR - good and bad. He is being sued by the owner of the copyright for La Dolce Vita. Michael claims that his name in the possessive in front of it makes it no different than any other porn parody. Although her half-baked un-executed last will no doubted will create another long court battle.

The GAYVN Summit begins this Thursday night with the awards show and party on Saturday night. Colt is throwing their 40th anniversary party. I’ll be there and taking notes to keep you up on all the news and gossip.  My plane lands on Sunday, so my blog may be a day late. It all depends how many parties I attend!

Number one in the gossip blogs is Harry Potter. The wizard can’t keep his wand in his pocket without creating a rise!  The book and movie open this July. Add to that the Simpsons movie, and it’s going to be a hot summer at the movies. In the meantime, Hannibal Rising is a true psycho horror. And what’s sicker is that Hannibal is HOT! That AND Dreamgirls - talk about opposite ends of the spectrum! The critics wanted to kill it, but the audience is approving - hmmm…

We’ve finally got our top 24 for Idol this year… Who do YOU wanna fuck? Well, as eye-candy goes, it’s slim pickings this season. But Phil Stacey has charisma. With looks like his, let’s hope his wife gives good head or he may stray pretty fast here in Hollywood-land.

Almost last, and becoming least - Jason Adonis was arrested in San Francisco on assault charges. He’s out on $40,000 bail. (Steroids are expensive aren’t they, Jason?) But it’s a good way to stay in the news I suppose. Last year Adonis flaked on his contract with Jet Set Men to bottom for the first time ever. Jet Set won a judgment against him and sent Adonis to collections. So much for his credit rating. Then, I lost count, but I think so far he’s bottomed for the first time for three different studios.
