BUT FIRST: I suppose everyone is looking forward to Gus Van Sant’s movie “MILK,” starring Sean Penn as Harvey Milk, the openly gay San Francisco Supervisor who was assassinated by a crazed colleague in 1978. The trailer is available on YouTube HERE, and I daresay many other places online as well. I just watched it, and I want to say that Penn certainly has made himself resemble Harvey physically, and even seems to have captured some of his casually, coyly flirtatious aspect. I had been afraid they were going to make Harvey pompous and grave. I knew Harvey to speak to when he was in the orbit of genius stage director Tom O’Horgan in the 1960s in New York. Read more
