February 21, 2007 … Well, I’m off to San Francisco for the next 4 days to cover all the seminars, parties and awards at the GAYVN Summit. Thursday night begins with the Maleflix welcome party. Friday has seminars and the COLT 40th anniversary party. Saturday offers more seminars followed by a short break, then a pre-gay-la dinner. After that the GAYVN awards for best acheivement in 2006. It’s being held in a historic theater in the Castro which is great. This is the first year in many where you can buy a ticket to see the event. Before the venue was so small the industry nominees could barely fit - nevermind guests or the consumers! Afterwards will be a major party of course, and I’ll be at all the events to fill you in. I’m going to try to write Sunday night - but no promises! Kathy Griffen of D-List fame is hosting. This should prove interesting. I mean how many women are there out there that can handle a room filled with ego-maniacle gay men? Hold your breath… More to come soon!
According to GAYVN.com “We are rolling out a new red carpet in a new city! We are SAN FRANCISCO bound! Be seen, wild and enjoy the moment of recognition for successes and achievements earned over the past year! Not to mention good relationships and business relations. Mingle with the industry’s leaders and with today’s top adult talent! With a line up of hundreds of mesmerized fans, the top talent, mainstream headliner and musical entertainment personalities, a new VIP trade-only lounge with a full dinner buffet and cocktails plus any post-awards show parties to keep the late evening hours jumping - you wouldn’t want and can’t afford to be anywhere else! Join us for this extravagant and special night!
The GAYVN Awards are dedicated to recognizing outstanding movies and talented individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the gay adult entertainment industry. Its broad-based, nation-wide panel of judges, predominantly gay-press-affiliated, has been awarding trophies for 21 years, making the GAYVN Awards the most respected and recognized awards in gay adult entertainment history.”
