As the GayPornSpace webmaster, one of the most fulfilling things I do is dog rescue. In Los Angeles alone last year, over 3 million dogs were euthanized. Please help me and my rescue network to save as many dogs as we can.

"Milko" Saved ...

October 21 , 2006 ... Today I was part of a wonderful rescue, one of five that GayPornSpace has participated in over the last several weeks. Below is the letter I sent to the people involved when I got home today ...

"I dropped Milko off at Petopia just an hour ago. The last week being a part of her rescue was a privelege, and being able to spend an hour with her on the drive was amazing.

Milko is everything you said - the sweetest girl pity-pit ever. She loved sitting up front with me in the car, and made sure some part of her body was always in contact with me, pressed as hard against me as possible - that typical pit bull thing :-)

As always, we had a long talk on the way from the shelter, and she listened intently, her tail wagging, and she willingly gave me many kisses. She was just so cute I couldn't help but give her cheeks some love bites... I must admit that she's a bit of a slut for tummy rubs - but what the hell... she's an adorable girl, and I was happy to oblige!

When I left her in the safety of Petopia, Milko sensed an air of serenity, peace and safety. I've never been one to care what people thing of me, so before I left her, we both sprawled on the floor of the office and cuddled for a few minutes. We held each other tight with the promise of a better life. We got up. Milko pranced off with a spring in her step. Mission accomplished. We did it. Saved one more. I turned to leave. The car was empty on the ride home. I fought back a few tears. I notied that I could smell Milko on my hand and sleeve. She smelled as pretty as she looked and acted. When I got home, my dogs Alex and Toby agreed as they sniffed me until I was wet - their tails wagging with approval.

To everyone who steps up to the plate with a car, a few dollars, a prayer - any level of participation - my deepest love, thanks, appreciation and respect for the lives we save, the difference we make, and the humanity we bring to a world that needs it now more than ever.

UPDATE ON "GOLDIE"
"Goldie" with Her New Playmate ...

September 2 , 2006 ... Goldie was rescued a few months ago. Her new guardian re-named her Paige. Isabelle is the white pit on the right (she is deaf).

Here new guardian reports: "She's my little princess now. She's very well behaved except she is still chewing a little bit and she likes to bark just for the fun of it randomly. I think she's just singing to herself or something. Hehe Oh yes and she'll bark at Rex (a third playmate) when he tries to sleep instead of playing with her. She's already a little bigger than when you saw her last."

I wish I could show you her new guardian - he is a total hottie, but I don't think he wants his picture on the site - dammit!

In the real world, many dogs are abused or abandoned by their owners. And 9 out of 10 dogs in shelters or the pound are put to death. So check out your local rescue group. Get active.
